The Lively Ones consisted of three guys all who were named David, and a girl named Gayle. Word branded the group “Folk”. What I love about Word records is that they seemed to be a few years behind. While songs on this album sound very late sixties, it was actually recorded in 1970.

The turn down songs, like “Why Oh Why” and “Our Hearts Need Love”, are perfect for listening to on a rainy day.

Some of the songs remind me of the Free Design, or a slight Tommy James and the Shondells- especially with the jazzy-finger picked guitar flourishes at the end of the tunes.
